"Committed to Lifelong Learning"
The Community Church
College was established in 1976 by United Community Church of Sun City Center as
a non-credit, adult education outreach program to serve the entire community and
surrounding areas. The purpose of the College program is to inform, to entertain,
and to inspire. Its continuing and steady growth is proof that the College is
fulfilling its purpose in providing the area with the intellectual stimulation
it seeks.
The College offers two six-week semesters per year, a Fall semester in October
and November, and a Spring semester in February and March. The 90-minute classes meet one day a week
for six weeks. All courses are taught by highly qualified instructors drawn
primarily from the local community. The tuition fee is $20 per course.
The college also sponsors a free year-round "SCC People, Places, and Things" extension program of special lectures every Monday afternoon at 1:30 at Sun Towers. Each program is facilitated by Dr. Phil Lange.
