Experience beautiful Venice, Florida, by land and sea aboard an amphibian vehicle that takes us on the Intra-Coastal Waterway to see wonderful waterfront sights, wildlife, and local attractions. We will divide into two alternating groups. Lunch is OYO, one group eating at 11:00 AM and the other at 1:00 PM. Bring a snack and water as needed; you may be in the late lunch group. Dress casually and wear comfy shoes. There will be a running commentary by Capt. Stewart explaining the local scenery.

October 17     Pass-a-Grille and Lunch in the Sky
Friday

Adding to our series on neighborhoods, we are off to Pass-a-Grille for a guided, historical tour of this southern extension of St. Pete. We will take a look at its waterfront homes, note its fine beaches, and visit some shops and galleries. A highlight of this excursion, (and I do mean high,) will be an included lunch in the revolving restaurant at the top of the Grand Plaza Hotel on St. Pete Beach. What a view! It changes before our very eyes.

November 1     Venice Art Festival
Saturday

One of our favorite trips goes to the Arts and Crafts Fair in Venice. Join us for a look at the many artistic creations plus the excellent “buys” in the local shops. It’s never too early for Christmas shopping. Lunch is on your own at the nearby restaurants.

November 9     Phantom of the Opera at TBPAC
                Sunday Matinee

If you have not seen or heard this show before, here is your chance. You will have time to mingle with the crowd on the riverbank, have a glass of wine before being ushered to your excellent seat.

November 15     Plant City Historic District
Saturday

The historic district is a special neighborhood in Plant City. We will drive there by way of Fort Lonesome and then head north. Our first stop will be Southern Hospitality, a huge store with garden pots, silk flowers, and decorator items. Then a local historian will relate interesting history of the town and invite us to see old photos. Lunch is on your own at your choice of charming restaurants including a tea room and a whistle stop. Antique shops tempt your fancy and there will be a gathering of antique cars by the old Depot. You can gab with the car owners.
