The Community Church College was established in 1976 by United Community Church of Sun City Center as a non-credit, adult education outreach program to serve the entire community and surrounding areas. The purpose of the College program is to inform, to entertain, and to inspire. Its continuing and steady growth is proof that the College is fulfilling its purpose in providing the area with the intellectual stimulation it seeks.
By offering non-credit
courses, students benefit from the stimulus of lectures and discussions in an
informal and relaxed environment.
The College offers two six-week semesters per year, a Fall semester in October
and November, and a Spring semester in February and March. The 90-minute classes
meet one day a week for six weeks. All courses are taught by highly qualified
instructors drawn primarily from the local community. The tuition fee is $25 per
course. We offer 40-50 courses and 4-6 trips and tours each semester. Trip and
tour costs vary according to expenses involved.
The College also offers a Speaker's Bureau of former and present instructors, each an expert in his or her field. Click here for our brochure of available speakers and their topics.
College Information
Fall 2010 catalogs are now available in
the College office, the Church lobby, and the SCC Library.
They will soon be distributed around town.
Early registration for Unlimited courses is now available by clicking on the Registration button above.
Open registration for Fall 2010 courses will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2010.
Fall 2010 semester courses begin the week of October 11 and will end the week of November 15.
